For $48 to $53, you can get the electronic download plus receive two clear vinyl records by mail. When “Rainbows” was released, 40 percent of fans paid for the album, with an average price of $6. This puts the electronic download for “The King of Limbs” at a higher price than most followers volunteered to pay for “Rainbows” however about on par with what they would pay at a $1-a-song price on iTunes.

Several bands do not have major studio labels including Radiohead. Independent distribution is something Nine Inch Nails is also doing now.
