RIM’s company tactic with the Blackpad

Recently, Research in Motion has encountered many business challenges. Governments and high-security businesses were the original target of Blackberry system. Though that niche is relatively small, Blackberry and RIM did really well serving it. Though they were not the prospective audience, everyday customers begun purchasing Blackberries as well. High security features do not always match very well with consumer-friendly features. This is a challenge RIM has always seemed to struggle with. Many customers are defecting from RIM Blackberry devices to Android and Apple products.

Breaking down the Blackpad

An electronic tablet computer similar to the iPad, Blackpad may have differences. There can be differences between the Blackpad and iPad. Namely, the Blackpad could have a different operating system. Instead of a stylus, the Blackpad will take touches. DevCon 2010 may see the Blackpad discussed. A real Blackpad to play with, though, probably will not be ready. RIM almost certainly plans to discuss the main points of the Blackpad, though. The screen will most likely be 7 inches, though 9.7 is also a possibility. The Blackpad will contain a video camera. It is possible that two can be involved, for video conferencing use. The operating system of the Blackpad will not be Blackberry OS3, however a specially-developed system. The price is also a large question. Some say that you may need a no fax loans to buy one, others say not at all.

The target market for Blackpad

Blackberry doesn’t want to ignore everyday consumers, but their business-based customers could be their biggest market. Amazon can be creating a music application for the Blackpad. Blackberry said they could be targeting this gadget to all customers. Blackberry phones already work on multiple cellular networks, meaning the Blackpad won’t be tied to just one. In other words, no have to be tied to just one cell carrier for your tablet compatibility. An Android device called WePad, can be released soon.
