Switchflops: A new trend footwear explosion

Flip flops and casual fashion shoe are two terms that are rarely associated. However not according to 25-year-old Phillips. During her high school days in Tampa, Fla., she designed a special kind of flip flops that boasted really fashionable interchangeable straps. Within a few short years, Switchflops the business was off the ground. The company expects to generate $ 30 million this year.

Switchflops – Coming from a simple idea springs several choices

With Switchflops, consumers who can’t afford a closetful of shoes can make a style forward step into being fabulous. The footwear revelation multiplies casual fashion possibilities substantially, as a result of the several accessible straps. The accessory opportunities seem endless. Ultimately, it is rather inexpensive: $ 35 for the sandal sole with a basic strap, and $ 12 each for additional fashion strap options. Change the strap and step into a new fashion world without breaking the bank. Considering Switchflops’ success, it comes as no surprise that the company has expanded into other areas of style retail for instance ballet shoes, children’s sandals and wedges and style accessories such as bags and scarves. Over 4,000 stores around the globe give consumers the opportunity to know the Switchflops experience.

'Everyone wore flip-flops to school, all of the time’

Phillips flexed her entrepreneurial muscles and secured her future. The kids at her secondary school loved to wear flip-flops to school (“Everyone wore them all of the time,” she told AOL), however the casual shoes weren’t always the most fashionable footwear in and of themselves. Changing it up on a daily basis would have required getting multiple pairs, which wasn’t practical for everyone. With Switchflops, need and idea meshed perfectly. By 2004, Phillips had an official patent on the Switchflops idea. Within three years, Switchflops got off the ground with the help of CEO Jeffrey Davidson, who knows all about helping business grow. An overseas office is currently on the agenda.

Personalization choices are admired today

AOL Small business cites studies indicating that companies that offer their customers the greatest customization choices – whether those corporations are in retail or a different sector – are more well-liked than ever. It’s also something of which Phillips is well-aware.

”Everyone wants to be a little unique, and when we may have the exact same bag, we don’t want it to be exactly the very same,” said Phillips.
