Authorities Arrest Faisal Shahzad In Connection With Times Square Auto Bomb

Authorities made an arrest in connection with the Times Square automobile bomb, 30 year old Pakistan born Faisal Shahzad. He is due to appear in court today, Tuesday, May 4. Fortunately, the maker of the bomb didn’t know what they were doing. Authorities picked him up later. With the charges he’s likely to face, he’s going to need some hefty no faxing payday loans to get decent lawyer.

Faisal Shahzad arrested when trying to flee

Faisal Shahzad was attempting escape when caught. He had boarded a plane bound for Dubai at John F. Kennedy International Airport, where he was apprehended. According to the Los Angeles Times, the car that he left idling with a bomb in it was traced to the previous owner, whom he had purchased it from . The bomb, according to authorities, appeared to be the work of two individuals.

Called quiet type

Neighbors of Faisal Shahzad described him as being very private. Nobody knew what he did as a living, and he rarely was seen outside the house. He resided in Shelton, Connecticut, and as outlined by CBS, one neighbor believed he worked on Wall Street, and one more neighbor thought he worked in nearby Norwalk. None of his neighbors saw him emerge from the house often. His house was foreclosed on last year.

The President had something to say

The President praised the law enforcement officials that acted, and the citizens that alerted them. He promised further investigation and that justice would be done.

Why did he do it?

So far, the motives of Faisal Shahzad’s Times Square car bomb have not been identified. What is clear, from the CBS reports and others reports, is that he had become a citizen. He also just returned from visiting his wife and kids, who reside close to Peshawar, Pakistan, where they moved to after their home was foreclosed on. He also didn’t bother registering a 1993 Pathfinder he purchased with cash. Authorities used the VIN on the motor to find the previous owner. He is due in court this afternoon — Tuesday, May 4 — and possibly that may bring further insight.
