Severe back injury at U2 360 tour rehearsal

The rehearsals for the U2 tour have been continuing in Munich, Germany for the last few weeks. Golden-Globe-nominated frontman Bono severely injured his back during last week's rehearsal. Bono’s doctors found that he had “suffered severe compression of the sciatic nerve … a serious tear in the ligament, and a herniated disc.” He was suffering from partial paralysis before the surgery.

Postponed U2 360 tour

Bono's injury has postponed the U2 360 tour until it is healed. Though millions of ticket buyers had used same day payday loans to ensure they got tickets on time, there was no way Bono could safely perform. The U2 360 tour will be rescheduled with Live Nation for 2011, and ticketholders for all 16 United States dates will most likely be able to exchange their tickets. If the concerts were to be canceled, U2 and LiveNation could easily be out hundreds of millions of dollars. The U2 appearance at the Glastonbury music festival has also been entirely canceled.

Bono, U2 tour, back on the road ASAP

U2’s Bono has personally called a few of the organizers of U2 tour date locations, to apologize for the delay. When he called the Glastonbury Festival organizers, Bono said that he was "heartbroken about the situation.” The doctors treating Bono have said the tour will not go on until Bono has recovered. Bono will have to take it easy in order to avoid becoming fully paralyzed. Full updates on the status of U2, Bono and the U2 tour are being offered on U2.com.
