David Cassidy imprisoned on driving under the influence charges

David Cassidy, of "The Partridge Family" fame, was arrested for driving drunk. He had been halted by the Florida Highway Patrol and was put through a field sobriety test and breath assessments. The blood alcohol assessments indicated he had twice the lawful limit. Cassidy retains his innocence and is vowing to fight the charges.

Former star of “The Partridge Family” TV series and teen idol David Cassidy was just lately arrested. The cop pulling him over though he may have been driving under the influence. That's why he got pulled over. He was pulled over by a FL Highway Patrol officer. This had been because he had been swerving through the lanes, reports CBS. He failed a field sobriety test he took. He got a blood alcohol level of 0.139 and 0.141 when taking a breathalyzer test. The Mercedes David Cassidy was driving has a half empty bottle of bourbon in it that the officer arresting for the DUI found. Cassidy doesn't seem to have much favor with his evidence, even if he isn't anything like Paris Hilton.

Cassidy admits to glass of wine

Cassidy said that he had one glass of wine with his midday meal while at a funeral. He also said he took hydrocodone. Only one was taken though. When arrested Wednesday evening, Cassidy said the glass of wine for lunch was the only alcohol he had that day. November 4 he was released after paying $350 bail. Cassidy, who starred in “The Partridge Family” series as Keith Partridge, had a long career as a teen pop star after the series concluded. Other former child stars have had their own battles with the bottle, as “Partridge Family” co-star Danny Bonaduce had his own high profile struggles.

Saying he will fight it in court

The representatives of David Cassidy say he will fight the charges. Many child stars have substance abuse issues. If convicted, he would not be the first.
